At Peel Children’s Aid we make every effort to move the adoption process along as quickly as possible; however, due to a lengthy screening process, it may take several months to gain approval to become an adoptive parent.

Adoption placements are based on the child’s needs, so the waiting time depends on an appropriate match being made between a child available for adoption and the adoptive family. Therefore, there’s no set waiting time or waiting list. Your patience in this process is greatly appreciated.

Do We Pay Fees?

In public adoption the only cost to you for the approval process is for completion of police record checks and possibly for your doctor to complete medical forms.
