Manageable workload for staff is an important issue at Peel CAS.
The amount of cases front line staff manage were outlined in the previous collective agreement. Using these ranges, over the past six years Peel CAS has added 140 new front line workers to meet the growing needs of children and families in our community.
Reducing or capping caseloads means hiring more staff. What our Union is asking for will cost almost $2 million a year. Adding this cost to our existing offer of $1.8 million would mean an increase of almost $4 million each year. We don’t receive this amount of additional funding from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
