I’ve been at Peel CAS for 12 years and feel lucky to be with the agency. I started out supporting our group homes and now I support screeners, investigators and team leaders in our Advice and Assessment Department, our agency’s “front door”. I work behind the scenes, re-directing people in crisis, processing 300+ police referrals and school reports monthly, and checking histories of families newly involved with us. This latter role serves an important function in the agency – it allow us to see if there is any past involvement with us or other CAS agencies in Ontario, or if any family members are on the Child Abuse Registry. At the end of the day, I love child welfare and making a difference. I provide assistance wherever I can and do my best to embody the values of Peel CAS and our “how can I help” service philosophy every day.
