The stars will be out once again when 350 guests come together for a backyard bash to raise funds for life changing programs and services for children and youth involved with Peel Children’s Aid.
“My family and I host this fundraiser each year to raise money to support a local charity,” says Councillor Ron Starr. “This year the event is dedicated to supporting programs that benefit children and youth in our community. We are very pleased to have raised over $150,000 in support of life changing programs and services for children and youth.”
Guests will be decked out in 50’s style while Glamping with the Starr's at the annual fundraiser. “It has been such an amazing opportunity to work with Councillor Starr, his family and the event organizing committee to bring this event together,” says Renae Addis, Executive Director, Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. “So many children and youth will benefit from the funds raised at this fabulous event.”
Where do the funds go?
Funds raised from this event will provide children and youth opportunities to participate in organized sports, music lessons and art classes, bursaries for post-secondary education, backpacks filled with school supplies, gifts during the holidays, clothing, toiletries, and infant supplies as well as support the Foundation’s goal of raising $5 million for a new community hub which is scheduled to be completed in June 2020.
