Position Title: Child and Youth Worker, Relief Positions
Department: Children Services
Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be able to work as part of a team to provide shift coverage for two eight (8) bed residential programs. Experience dealing with children who have behavioral difficulties ages 12-18 years is preferred as well as the ability to assess, interpret and record behavior in a meaningful way. The ability to build trusting relationships with children and participate in a professional treatment team approach is required.

Candidates must possess effective social skills to be a positive role model for the youth and have a strong level of familiarity with Child & Youth residential programming and assessment skills along with verbal and written communication skills, particularly with recordings and reports. You are able to work a variety of shifts including weekend and statutory holidays.
Qualifications: •Child & Youth Work diploma from a recognized community college preferred or a related diploma or degree (BA, BSW, DSW).
•Knowledge of mental health and developmental/learning disabilities
•Must have a valid CPR, First Aid Certificate, and UMAB (understanding and managing aggressive behavior)
•A valid Ontario Driver’s License with one million liability auto insurance coverage
•A current “vulnerable sector” police check.
•Up to date Immunization and Health assessment
Terms of Employment: On Call Basis
Salary: $18.57 per hour
