Foster parents are an important part of a large team that includes Peel Children’s Aid staff, other professionals and a child’s biological family. Foster parents provide a stable and supportive home that encourages a child’s growth and development.

There are many reasons a child may be separated from his or her own parents and need a temporary place to live.  While we believe that it is best for children to stay with their own families, this is not always possible. When a family solution is not available, children come into foster care through the Peel Children’s Aid.

A foster home provides substitute parenting:

  • for children who cannot safely stay with their own families
  • on behalf of families that have asked for help during times of crisis
  • when families need specific help in caring for their children

Explore fostering…the ultimate community service!
