Lunar New Year – Year of the Snake will be celebrated this year on January 29, 2025.

This holiday is celebrated by Southeast and East Asian nationalities such as China, Vietnam, Korea and Singapore. Lunar New Year is not celebrated by all countries in Southeast and East Asia and there are diverse traditions and cultural practices to celebrate this holiday.

A common myth determining the zodiac order is the story of the Jade Emperor who selected 12 animals to race to his party. Based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the 12 animals cycle every year in the order they arrived to the Emperor’s party.
