2SLGBTQ+

Peel CAS is a member of the Peel 2SLGBTQ+ Collaborative, which provides leadership and capacity building to advance 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion in Peel Region. The Collaborative includes the following 10 community partners:

• Wellfort Community Health Services
• Interim Place 
• Associated Youth Services of Peel
• Punjabi Community Health Services
• Indus Community Services
• East Mississauga Community Health Centre
• Volunteer MBC 
• Brampton Library

Peel CAS has also recently developed a 2SLGBTQ+ Work Group comprised of staff and foster caregivers, many of whom have lived experience. The Work Group is tasked with reviewing data collection and safety plans for 2SLGBTQ+ youth clients and families, and also developing best practices for the delivery of services to this marginalized group. The Working Group assists Peel CAS and clients to find effective resources and services within Peel Region and ensures that programs and referrals are SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression) competent.
